But he doesn’t know if a phone call from him would be welcome. Peggy’s retired and living in Britain. She’s probably moved on with her life and she’s probably old. She doesn’t need Steve digging up the past where all they could really talk about is the war and the friends that they lost. Peggy’s probably had a good and happy life. Steve doesn’t want to bring up unhappy memories. So he won’t call her.They say his body could withstand almost anything.
But that doesn’t mean his mind could.
